Description
I can't wait to see how terrible this looks on every other display...
Well, here's my first illustration assignment of the semester. The prompt was "the power of sound" and I decided to do a self-reflection relating to my activity in the rave scene and a specific event that happened, paired with synesthesia. Could've gone crazier with the patterns but I didn't want it to come off as a drug piece, so I kept it relatively simple.
I'm aware that the anatomy is a bit wonky in parts; while I did put a good amount of effort into this, I spaced out a lot and was very distracted during the drawing by outside bad life things so I overlooked a LOT of errors. I don't think I need to be reminded of them again.
Also, after doing this piece I was recommended to stop using markers as my primary medium because they don't reproduce well. As a marker artist it was a bit of a blow, but I have been using other things like gouache and colored pencil a lot lately so I think I'll deal. This is one of my only seriously flourescent pieces anyway.
Enjoy!
MATERIALS USED: Micron pen, Copic markers, some Prismacolor pencils and flourescent dry-erase pen on smooth bristol.
