...I can't believe I'm submitting this.
Eh. It's my first actual painting where I USED techniques and watahcolah paper and stuffs. xD Only part I didn't really paint in the girl was the skin which was done in Copics. My first idea for this was, "Do an angel. An angel at night with one big colorful wing. Only one wing. 2 wings would overdo it. Just one. D:" This was sort of inspired a lot by =luciole. I didn't steal her idea of a moonlight sky; the idea was actually my aunt's. I was talking on the phone with her about ideas for a BG a few months back while describing the figure and a moonlight sky was her suggestion so, lo! I actually painted one. I can't believe it turned out decent. Any other time I use salt, it screws up my painting. D: And this is actually my first real watercolor thingy piece d00d. It took a while, I guess... PLEASE don't nag me about how her nose is too close to her mouth. I had no skills when I was drawing it. D: Well, when I painted the background yesterday, I was like "Ew. Just... ew. The sky is a boring 3-year-old crayon colored blue and the groundey-mountainy dudes are, like, baby-sh#t-in-the-car green. x_x" I became more confident after I used the highlights though. It actualy LOOKED like something. xDD; 'Specially the moon, which took quite a while instead of the normal 2 seconds it would have taken if I didn't lack the patience at the moment. x_x Ah well. The end result is okay, I suppose. It's her face that bothers me though. My coloring improves as my lineart worsens. How terrible. But still, I have to admit. Painting this was much fun to do. PS: Don't expect a tutorial for a while now... I'm studying for midterms (all done with studying for my writing part for tonight), plus my mom confiscated both my cameras, my computer, all my new Copics, my Vans... D: She's gonna give my markers to charity who doesn't have any use for them and sell my camera to some African kid apparently. DD: Ah well. I needa buy a new one now. Goodbye, zoom lens. MATERIALS USED: Micron 05 brown and blue inking pens, Copics (for skin only), watercolor paints (caked), salt, silver pen, white ink... all on 9x12 coldpress watercolor block. EDIT: File changed... adjusted the contrast because it makes the colors look richer and more vibrant. |

Have you ever wondered: "I think these people from these animes should be together." or "I think these animes would be a great crossover combination."

Anyway, this looks gorgeous. I don't really think the BG looks disgusting at all. I really like those trees and that moon. It all really helps to place emphasis on the girl and that girl looks wonderful. This whole thing is colored well, but the girl especially so. I like how her wings turned out and her dress looks so pretty - she looks so pretty! The folds in her outfit are done very well and I like how that sash (?) goes all over like that.
Wow!
